Does the executor have the final say?
The executor of an estate is the person who makes sure the deceased person's wishes are carried out. Actually, the executor has very little say in terms of how any assets left behind are distributed after a death. The will is legally binding upon the deceased person's assets, but does not necessarily have to be followed to the letter.
Section 1: A will is technically a contract between the testator (the person writing the will) and their executor. If you're named as an executor in someone's will, there's a lot of risk involved in taking on that responsibility. If you don't carry out your duties according to the will, you could be held liable for anything that goes wrong during this process. This doesn't mean that you can never come into conflict with another inheritor. You might have differing opinions on how best to distribute assets, or you may disagree with what the original owner had written in their will.
