Yes, it is possible to remarry the same person after a divorce. It is not, however, legal in all states. A marriage and a divorce are two separate legal entities under the law, and therefore, they can exist independently of one another.

To get an uncontested divorce in most states, you would need to follow your state's procedures for dissolving a marriage. If you want to marry again in a state where that's possible, you might need to file paperwork with the court to dissolve your first marriage before you can get married again.

Even if that means that I have to file some paperwork with the court and pay fees to dissolve my marriage before I can get married again, I probably won't mind doing that because I really do want to marry my ex-husband again. But even if I didn't care about marrying him again (because we got divorced for reasons that had nothing to do with us not loving each other), it's still important to me that we have an official record of our divorce so that no one questions our right to marry again. That's why I will probably file for an uncontested divorce, even if it means extra hassle and expense.
